Atumwi

The duo has invented a unique style of music dubbed Sendeza Analysis, which is already making an impact on the local music scene.

Evans Zangazanga and Nicholas Mbonela (known as Mnthumwi Nikodemo) met in 2004 in Zomba when both were leaders of their respective music groups, Real Wise Crew and Ku Chawe Klan.
Atumwi made a name for themselves with their first album ‘Machitidwe a Atumwi-Sendeza 1’, recorded with gospel artist Thoko Phiri.
Two of the songs from the album, ‘Pamtima’ and ‘Mndyomba’ have enjoyed massive airplay on the country’s radio stations and some entertainment joints.
On the way forward, Mbonela says they are turning people on to the Sendeza genre through this debut album.
“This is on-going project, because we even want our sons and daughters to adopt this and be part of Sendeza family,” he says.
