Mr Paul was first introduced to DJing at 15, learning his trade on a set of Technics 1210s and musically influenced by The Orb, Orbital and The Advent to name just a few. After a trip to Ibiza at 17, and Paul returned with the idea of setting up a home studio. Growing up with music every weekend at Liverpool’s world-famous Cream and Voodoo, it’s fair to say that 90’s house and techno were Paul’s main influences.
In 2001 Paul won the Red Bull Music Academy competition, spending two weeks watching and learning from established DJ’s/producers and industry movers and shakers from all over the world, providing gigs at 333 and Dogstar.
Mr Paul started DJing at Korova in summer 2007, and now runs the Saturday night, Biblioteque, providing vintage ‘electroclash’ – alternative 80’s pop and techy disco – as well as making regular appearances DJing at Evol, recently supporting 2 Many DJ’s. In October 2008, Paul played his first Lake of Stars, DJing on all three days and describing it as ‘an amazing and highly recommended experience.’
