The Black Survivors is a 13-member band formed in 1996 with a mission to promote Malawian traditional music and preserve culture. The group played at Lake of Stars in 2008 and was voted best traditional band. The group also enjoyed the three months of TGIF at UMUNTHU THEATRE. 2009 in April the group performed at Kambiri Lodge during the Domestic tourism festival. Currently the group is working on the launching of their DVD of pure Malawian music entitled ‘SLAVERY’.
