Sally Nyundo is a multi-instrumentalist, whose timeless music has led to his recognition as one of Malawi’s best reggae artists. He started out in 1994 with the Imagez Band in a small township in Blantyre, Malawi. He’s recorded great songs like Namwali, Chule Chule, Kukuchedwa Kucha, Heavens Wants To See, Chant Nayabingi to name just a few. His music career gained recognition in 2000 when he joined the House of Lions, winning the first Malawi Music Awards ‘Malawi Gin Music Trophy’. Later in the same year he recorded his first album Nyimbo, of which one of the songs, ‘Rasi Amadya Mzimbe’ (Rastas Eat Sugar Cane) became a national anthem for the Rasta community. Sally has worked with a lot of musicians and bands, both local and international, performing and MC-ing at past Lake of Stars festivals.
